Introducing: Mr Kim Mok!

Kim Mok is living proof that great ability can be exercised when one has a so-called ‘disability’.

He is very active in sport, competing in running, swimming and long-jump and is the captain of Hong Kong’s blind golf team. In September this year, Kim launched Hong Kong’s first blind golf tournament with the slogan “Can’t see, can tee.” The tournament brought together ten blind and partially sighted golfers along with ten professional golfers and ten celebrities.

Kim says, “I love new things, I love innovation, and love a challenge.” Kim received the honourable Top Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award in 1999.

He has worked with the Hong Kong Society for the Blind and now, among other roles, is providing consulting services to Crossroads’ Blind X-perience by serving as our trainer and ambassador.

Through his work in the Hong Kong blind community Kim seeks to demonstrate that, as he puts it, “despite your visual impairment you still have a choice, not only a chance.”
